FOMO:DE Brings Secret DJ Pop-ups to Delaware
“Looking for nightlife in Delaware? It’s few and far between. FOMO:DE works to change that with pop-up events at secret locations throughout the First State.
For many adults, the days of vibrant nightlife are behind us. Between family responsibilities, social commitments, and work, it can be difficult to make time and find the energy for a night out. This was true for Heather Cox, a digital marketing and social media specialist in Newark and the founder of FOMO:DE.
“I grew up with music,” Cox says. After a childhood of playing piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, and more, Cox got into dance music in high school. In her 20s, she began going to night clubs and frequented Shampoo in Philly. She got into the rave scene, music festivals, EDM, and house music.
“I’m 40 now,” Cox says, “and I still want the music, the dance, the vibes, and the community.”
She began working on a way to bring the nightlife and club energy to Delaware in settings that are made for her and others like her. She wanted to curate a space that appeals to adults and pivots away from college bars and DJ sets that start at 11 p.m.
The result is FOMO:DE, a company that organizes pop-up DJ sets in surprise locations throughout the state.”
